'Boston 1774 Event'

July 3rd, 6 AM~ A beautiful day! The sun was just coming up on the front of our house, and here Mary poses just before we left for Boston.

We thought the ladies would like to see some views of Mary's ensemble! She made her hat.

The lovely back of the jacket is very fetching worn over the 'bumroll'! This jacket had been quite huge for Mary, and was just taken in a lot and now looks fantastic!

Handsome Adam!

Arrived at Boston Common 8 AM

The reenactors setting up on Boston Common. Lovely homes on Beacon Street are in the background.

Mary on Boston Common in the early morning sun.

Boston Common was founded in 1635. It was amazing to walk there and think of the people who walked there before us all those years ago, and what momentous events took place there. In this photo with the modern Boston skyline in the background, it is almost as if past visits present....

In the 90 degree heat Adam gets into yet another regulation pack!

The British troops form up in the background and ladies chat under a canvas 'fly'.

Mary and Jamie with her 2 month old daughter, Anastasia!

Our regiment's banner.

Adam, (center) ready to march to the pier to board the ship.

The 'colors' and the musicians, ready to march through the streets of Boston!

Mary with straw hat chats with members of our regiment, as we all try to stay cool!

This is amazing Jamie with 4 of her FIVE children, including a new 2 month old baby! The kids LOVE reenacting, and Jamie and the baby participated in the entire day's events, marching the 5 miles through Boston, the boat ride and everything else, carrying Anastasia in her sling the entire time!

Jamie and the newest member of their family!

Two of Jamie's children. They were playing with authentic colonial period toys!

Adam, ready to march.

This is our reenactment group, 'His Majesty's Own' 4th Regiment of Foot... Several other British units were at this event as well.

All of the units, followed by we ladies marched through the center of the streets in downtown Boston! In the blistering heat, the men in wool and gear, the ladies in 'stays' and layers and layers of clothing marched a total of 5 miles this day!

The Old State House...

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE lined the streets of Boston to watch us march to the pier, and took photos of us all along the way.

We arrived at the pier...

The companies formed up and we got ready to board the clipper LIBERTY!

What a beautiful ship she is!

We stood on the brick pier waiting to board the ship.

Boarding the LIBERTY...

Young Orianna surrounded by the soldiers.

Mary, with basket and linsey-woolsey covered canteen on the ship! WE CANNOT TELL YOU HOW EXCITING AND SPECACULAR THIS WHOLE DAY WAS!

Here the LIBERTY is now sailing, and one of Jamie and Orion's sons looks out at the skyline.

A smiling Adam!

A pensive Dave enjoys the view out on the water.

There was a glorious breeze as we set sail!

UNDER CANVAS...

Mary, looking at the Custom's House on Long Wharf where we would be landing shortly.

The men help let down the sails as we prepare to pull up to Long Wharf.

Sails coming down.

Mary, loving the sea breeze as we sail to Long Wharf.

Jamie and baby Anastasia on the ship.

Kim, her husband Chris, the commander of our regiment, and Jamie's husband, Orion.

You can see the Custom's House and literally THOUSANDS of people waiting for us to dock. We reenacted the landing of the British in 1774. We couldn't belive the number of people there as well as the press, and when we landed and disembarked, cameras were clicking non-stop!

Here we are, ready to disembark after our wonderful sail on the LIBERTY! We then walked several miles in formations back to Boston Common, thousands more people lining the Boston streets taking our pictures the entire way!

Adam and Mary, just having gotten off the ship LIBERTY...
What a wonderful day!
